Sam Raimi, the writer director of Spider-Man 3, had a talk with SciFi about his latest film. Sam pondered the idea early on that he would give old Venom his own movie and keep going on with Spider-Man and create a 4th movie. In my opinion I think that would of been the way to go, but nope, Venom is in it along with Sandman and Green Goblin (sorry if I revealed something you didn’t know). Although from what I have read, some of the toughest critics around are giving Spider-Man 3 a great review, so I guess Sam Raimi did something right.
So the very nature of that story demands that you either do it [as] two [parts], if you want to spend more time with Venom, which I didn’t think was fair to the audience, to the fans of Spider-Man,” or that you do it all at once and introduce Venom fairly late, Raimi said in a news conference. “I thought about it, I really did. And I kept reading the fans’ e-mails that [producer] Avi [Arad] would send me. They’d better not just introduce him to tease us!’ … I felt that the fans didn’t want that, from the thousands of e-mails that were sent me.
Well I am off to go and see the movie on Sunday and I so pumped to see it, I guess Spider-Man has lived up to the production costs and will hopefully set a new standard for Spider-Man 4 to live up to.
