The third in the trilogy of Ocean and his men has just beaten out all the others to win the weekend box office. It netted in around $37 million. The next in line were Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Kocked Up, Surfs Up and Hostel: Part II.
Overall, the weekend was pretty tepid, but “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and “Knocked Up” proved impressively durable, relegating Sony Animation’s newcomer, “Surf’s Up,” to fourth place while Lionsgate’s “Hostel: Part II” bowed at No. 6, taking in just $8.8 million.
It seems like the box office is started to fall. Spider-Man was a killer at the box office and slowly but steadily the numbers are falling. Although $37 million ain’t too shabby, I bet that casino they were playing in was worth a substantial amount. Not sure about Surf’s Up looks kind of lame, looks like they have taken the penguins from “The Wild” and made a movie about them, meh
