Movie News.  |  | MP3 It!

/Film is a great resource for movie news (not as good as ShizzlePie though :p) and they have recently posted a great little feature on a look at Pixars future in terms of movies. I am seeing some great movies coming out. I will comment on them all seperately.

Ratatouille is about to be released and doesn’t look all that bad. Except I am seeing a HUGE pattern with animal movies, are the guys over at Pixar not good enough in there people rendering yet? I went and saw Shrek the other night and I gotta say, I wouldn’t be complaining about quality if they started making full blown complete casts of people.

WALL-E, has a pretty cliche plot. He is a robot in the year 2700 and he does what he should be doing until he finds out he can be doing so much more. The robots picture is kind of a lame pic, seems like one to watch out for.

Up, now we are talking. /Film has a great writeup about the plot, so I will leave it to them to tell you. “A ‘coming-of-old-age story’ about a 70-year old man who lives in a house that “looks like your grand-parents’ house smelled.” He befriends a clueless young Wilderness Ranger and gets into “lots of alter kocker altercations.” He travels the globe, fights beasts and villains and eats dinner at 3:30 in the afternoon.” Now that sounds like a keeper, checklist: Human: Yes, Not so cliche Plot: Yes, Hint of Action?: Yes. At the moment it is sounding very promising.

My favourite of all. TOY STORY 3!! The first two were hilarious and I loved em both. Original plot, original cast and they backed it up with number 2. I don’t think anything can drastically wrong unless they just completely screw it up and take it way too far. I am hinting a plot like this, Andy is grown up and kicks them out, into a Thift Shop or something and they get picked up by a reckless girl (wait not they is sounding too much like 1 + 2, I’ll leave this one up to you)

1906, a war story. Sounds pretty cool, another one I will leave up to /Film to tell you about, although the description is long so I will leave it to last. I think it is going to be great, it is Pixar’s first live action film and it looks to be a keeper.

Here is my rankings for the movies.
1. Toy Story 3 (how can you not be looking forward to it?)
2. Up
3. 1906
4. WALL-E
5. Ratatouille

And now for the synopsis of 1906

Every disaster has a backstory, none more thrilling than this one. Set during the great San Francisco earthquake and fire, this page-turning tale of political corruption, vendettas, romance, rescue—and murder—is based on recently uncovered facts that forever change our understanding of what really happened. Told by a feisty young reporter, Annalisa Passarelli, the novel paints a vivid picture of the Victorian-era city, from the mansions of Nob Hill to the underbelly of the Barbary Coast to the arrival of tenor Enrico Caruso and the Metropolitan Opera. Central to the story is the ongoing battle—fought even as the city burns—that pits incompetent and unscrupulous politicians against a coalition of honest police officers, newspaper editors, citizens, and a lone federal prosecutor. With the appeal and texture of The Alienist, Carter Beats the Devil, and the novels of E. L. Doctrow, James Dalessandro weaves unforgettable characters and actual events into a compelling epic.
