The creator of Austin Powers, Mike Myers, had some more information on the latest installment of Powers in an interview whilst talking about Shrek the Third. Apparently he wants to create a new movie, but the focus to be coming from one of the many characters he plays, Dr. Evil.
“I have figured out that the story will be taken from the point of Doctor Evil,” Myers said in an interview while promoting Shrek the Third. “It will be powered from Doctor Evil’s point of view.” Myers added: “That will be the first of a trilogy. … I’m just joking! … I haven’t figured it all out. Who knows?”
Well, I loved the Austin Powers movies. Although they were a bit corny at times (wasn’t that the main aspect?) they really made me chuckle. Hopefully bringing it from a different perspective can really bring new light to the franchise as another movie about Austin Powers being an idiot to save the day would just make me utterly loathe that series.
