Sorry about the lack off news on my behalf, yesterday I had to jet down to the hospital to get rid of the old wisdom teeth. Spent the whole day there and when I got home was way too tired to post the weekend catchup, please don’t hate me for it
Anyway here it is people
7-Eleven have turned there a bunch of there shops into real Kwiki Marts, seems like a genius marketing ploy for the Simpson movie which is set to be released on the 27th of July. The first store to transform is the one in Burbank, California, and it has done so in style, more pictures to follow. I think this marketing idea is absolute pure genius
A new trailer for the Bourne Ultimatum has surfaced online, I gotta say I quite like this trailer. I haven’t seen the first two movies as I am having trouble renting them out due to the stupid video store and places like netflix won’t send down here, but this trailer has definitely spurred some love for the series.
Ratatouille won the weekend running for the box office but if we are counting the release date of Willis’ Life Free or Die Hard on Wednesday, then he beat our Ratatouille by a cool $1 million. Next in line was Evan Almighty with a nice taking of $15.1 million, after him was 1408 and then FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer and in 6th place knocked. Don’t pay attention to my weekend box office counter on the side, it is wrong, I was meaning to change it to box office mojo.
Well that’s it for me and the Weekend Catchup, here are some images from the Kwike-Mart / 7-Eleven transformation.

The MPAA has added new fake movie posters so that if people are caught filming them they can be fined upwards of $250,000. That is absolutely madness [insert Gerard Butler angry face] and the MPAA really needs to stop being fucktards. As CinemaBlend kindly put, big hits like Spidy 3 pulled in $800million, when they could be pulling in $1billion don’t you feel sorry for the studios? No way in hell
Brad Bird talks to ComingSoon.net about a possible Incredibles sequel and also talks about Toy Story 3. He says Toy Story has a really good plot and if he can come up with something just as good or even better for Incredibles 2, he would jump on it. Toy Story 3 is set to be released in 2010.
Samuel L. Jackson has been seen playing Nick Fury in Iron Man. They obviously look the same (minus the eye patch but a little makeup and freshening up is a given) and Jackson is an awesome actor (Look for the wallet that says Bad Motherfucker on it) and I believe this role was definitely made for him.
A new trailer for the Transformers has been released. It is a TV spot for the much anticipated July 2nd release of Transformers. The hype is really starting to build up and I only hope Michael Bay can live up to the hype he is causing. Check it out in Quicktime or Flash Player

A new Transformers poster has been posted online and it looks half decent, only thing stopping me from saying it is awesome is that fucking photoshop flare that is sitting in the middle arrgghh!! And also a new TV spot has hit the web. I am really anticipating Transformers now and the hype is only throwing wood on the fire, stupid Internet hype!
About a week ago we posted a list of movies that Pixar are going to release in the next 4 or so years. One that was pretty high up on the list, in fact said to be released next year, was WALL-E. Now I know I said it sounded like a pretty shit movie, but after watching the teaser trailer, I am more than impressed. Definitely one to look out for in the near future, June 27th, 2008 to be precise.
FSR post some of the best movie lists I have ever seen (we have shown this and that) and they back it up by posting a pretty sweet list of the Top 10 Worst Movie Video Games in History. Some of the games I have never even heard of, like the number, who would in there right mind create a game based on ET? The way the guys describe it is great as well, have a look
/Film have posted a pretty cool list of fun Ratatouille facts, the list is nothing awesome just random facts about the movie that you probably wouldn’t know or want to know for that matter. It seems /Film have been really drumming up the release of Ratatouille more than usual, I wonder what is going on there, possible a little sweetner from Disney Pixar? Who knows…
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer took the top spot at the BO with an estimated sweep of $22.2 million. The next in line was Ocean’s Thirteen with a taking of $6.6 million and that takes it to $56.9 million overall. The third place getter was Kocked Up. According to a few reviews FF is the shittest movie to date in the comic book to movie line, but I guess it will still have crowds wondering what it is like and kids begging there parents to see it.
Oh my lord, Star Trek are gonna be launching another movie. For fucks sake can’t they just let it die? I so wanna be at Comic-Con when this is announced, the Trekkie’s would go fucking nuts! IESB says it will be released December 28th, 2008. Seems like it will still get a crapload at the BO due to the crazy fan base it has
As I said on Friday of last week, I am now only going to update on Monday-Friday. But as most of you know, the movies don’t stop on the weekends, instead of completely cutting out the weekend we are going to have a weekend catchup post. So here it is
A poster for the the new Rob Zombie movie is up on the net, Filmsy has it over at there blog. They reckon that it won’t be a great movie, unsure at the moment, the poster does look a little corny to me.
The businessman in Borat who runs from Sacha Cohen in a scene is suing 20th Century Fox, he is suing them for violating his civil rights. This has been one of many lawsuits brought up for Sacha after it debuted, what can you expect if you aren’t paying the characters large sums of money and are trying to get in a good improv? Damn bastards…
Tim Storry is all set to direct the new “The Losers” movie. The story is brought up to a present day setting and instead of World War II soldiers like DC Comics created in the 1970’s comic it is a team of special force soldiers. Sounds like a pretty good script, probably gonna enjoy it.
Obsessed with Film has a great picture of the *could be* batcycle for the new Dark Knight batman movie. Although they did bring up a good point saying the logo on the side is not really in the style of Christopher Nolan. Only time will tell I guess.
